St. Clare's Health System to Eliminate 59 Jobs

St. Clare's Health System, with locations in Morris and Sussex counties in New Jersey, plans to eliminate 59 positions through layoffs and attrition, according to a North Jersey report.

Forty-eight employees will be laid off across the system. Those employees will receive severance packages and priority for future open positions within St. Clare's, according to the report.

A system spokeswoman told North Jersey the workforce reduction stems from reduced Medicare reimbursements and "the challenging economic climate affecting both New Jersey and the nation's hospitals."
