Trump offered ride on Air Force One for senator's healthcare vote

President Donald Trump offered Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W. Va., a ride on Air Force One, but only on the condition that she voted for GOP healthcare proposals, according to The New York Times.

The plane was bound for the Boy Scouts jamboree July 24 in Ms. Capito's home state of West Virginia. Ms. Capito declined Mr. Trump's offer, telling him at the time that she could not pledge support for a bill she had not seen.

Ms. Capito had been hesitant to endorse GOP healthcare efforts due to proposed cuts to Medicaid expansion, though she eventually voted for two out of three Republican bills brought to the Senate floor. The only Republican bill she voted against was a full repeal of the ACA without replacement.
