Clinton campaign releases physician's letter for Tim Kaine

Following Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's pneumonia diagnosis, her campaign has released medical information for Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), who is running for vice president, reports Politico.

The information was released via a letter from Sen. Kaine's physician, Brian P. Monahan, MD.

In the letter, Dr. Monahan, who has served as Sen. Kaine's physician for the past three years, writes that the 58-year-old Sen. Kaine is in "overall excellent health" and "active in ... professional work, and physical fitness endeavors without limitation."

The senator does gymnasium workouts three times per week, has no history of tobacco use and drinks alcohol in "moderate quantities," his physician said. Sen. Kaine has a history of a clavicle fracture and shoulder dislocations, and his surgical history is limited to a molar extraction, according to the letter.

The only health issue Dr. Monahan noted was low vitamin D consumption. He recommended the senator add a daily vitamin D supplement.

The release of Sen. Kaine's health information comes as Ms. Clinton's campaign released a letter Wednesday from her physician, Lisa Bardack, MD. Meanwhile, Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump shared the results of a physical examination during an hour-long interview on The Doctor Oz Show taped Wednesday. Republican vice presidential candidate and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence's campaign said Wednesday he plans to release a report from his summer physical, according to Politico.
