For-profit hospital stock report: Week of June 8-12

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Up 3.07 percent last week, shares of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services rose the most of any of the for-profit hospital operators.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, on the other hand, saw their stock prices fall last week.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $54.00 per share (down 0.28 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $82.46 per share (up 2.07 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $74.85 per share (up 0.55 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $51.82 per share (up 0.76 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $130.74 per share (up 3.07 percent).
