For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Sept. 11-15

All of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 6.4 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of Sept. 15.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $7.61 per share (up 6.4 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $79.24 per share (up 2.8 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $56.60 per share (up 1.6 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $16.73 per share (up 1 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $110.67 per share (up 0.2 percent)
