For-profit hospital stock report: Week of May 15-19

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services saw the largest decrease in share price at 3.2 percent.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw its share price fall 0.7 percent, the least of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.                                          

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $10.00 per share (down 1.6 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $82.25 per share (down 2.8 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $61.95 per share (down 0.7 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $17.56 per share (down 2.9 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $118.42 per share (down 3.2 percent)
