For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 3-7

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price at 5.2 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of July 7.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $9.44 per share (down 5.2 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $86.14 per share (down 1.2 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $65.45 per share (down 2.5 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $18.65 per share (down 3.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $122.14 per share (down 0.04 percent
