FloridaHospital deployed Nuance Communications’ CDI program during the summer of 2014 and expanded the program across eight affiliated hospitals in May 2015.

In a prepared statement, Jeff Hurst, senior vice president and senior finance officer at Florida Hospital, said, “Since deploying [Nuance], we’ve seen a 29 basis point increase in case mix index that equates to a $72.5 million increase in appropriate revenue over two years.”

FloridaHospital also reported strong physician engagement in their CDI improvement initiative. The hospital measured physician response rates to CDI clarifications between 87 and 92 percent. “Our physicians deliver great care and we focused conversations on ensuring that they get measured and rewarded for it,” said Mr. Hurst.
