5 hospital CFOs in the headlines this week

Here are five hospital and health system CFOs who were in the news this past week.

1. Penny Westmoreland was in the news this week as she was named CFO of Sheffield, Ala.-based Helen Keller Hospital.

2. Dennis Rutherford, CFO of Gilbert (Ariz.) Hospital, was in the news this week as a trial date was set for the lawsuit he and other former executives of Blythe, Calif.-based Palo Verde Hospital filed against the hospital district, according to the Palo Verde Valley Times.

3. Jimmy Young was in the news as he was named CFO of Jackson, Miss.-based Merit Health.

4. Nancy Woodyard, CFO of Chanute, Kan.-based Neosho County Memorial Regional Medical Center, was in the news this week discussing reimbursement issues concerning Kansas' Medicaid program, according to The Chanute Tribune.

5. Ronny Hyatt, senior vice president and CFO of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System based in Greenville, S.C., was in the news this week for his philanthropic work as he was named a new board member of the Greenville Humane Society.
