What Gen Z thinks about AI and work: LinkedIn

Generation Z is the age group most likely to doubt AI’s effect on their jobs, according to a Nov. 14 LinkedIn News post.

In a survey of 4,328 U.S. professionals conducted Sept. 21 to Oct. 18, 41% of Gen Z respondents said they “doubt AI will have much impact” on their job. This is compared to a U.S. average of 31% across all generations.

Millennials and Generation X were the least likely to doubt AI’s impact, with 29% of respondents from both groups agreeing with the statement. Baby boomers were slightly more skeptical, at 36%, according to the survey.

The survey also found that Millennials and Gen X are the most optimistic about the benefits of gaining AI skills, with 54% and 53%, respectively, agreeing it would improve career progress. Baby boomers followed at 45%, while Gen Z was the least likely to agree, at 39%.
