The health insurer is adding the jobs as it becomes a third-party administrator for West Virginia’s government workers. Under a five-year contract, West Virginia will pay UnitedHealthcare about $15 million to manage the benefits, and possibly another $8 million in shared savings if provider network discounts are realized, Jason Haught, the CFO at the West Virginia Public Insurance Agency, told the Star Tribune.
The employees will staff a member support center in Charleston, W.Va.
