The Navy has launched an ad campaign in an effort to recruit healthcare workers in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Diego.

The campaign targets early-career physicians, nurses and dentists between ages 26 and 32 and includes a YouTube series where Navy healthcare professionals share their experience, Fox affiliate KUSI News reported April 8.

Cities such as San Diego were chosen as campaign markets due to the high concentration of medical schools, hospitals and research institutions, the report said.

The healthcare industry is navigating several workforce challenges in 2026, including widespread shortages, persistent workplace violence and regulatory barriers to talent pipelines.

Four states recently passed bills to address the dearth, and the Health Resources and Services Administration announced April 7 it would commit $11.25 million to tackle ongoing rural health workforce shortages across the country.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
