Medical services currently offered at Huey P. Long Medical Center will be transferred to the LSU Health Sciences Center, which currently houses outpatient services. In turn, outpatient services there will be transferred to another nearby facility.
Estimated costs to “modernize” the two buildings sit at approximately $30 million, far less than the estimated $230 million it would cost to build a new medical center. Gov. Jindal’s modernization plan is expected to be approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors.
