Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo, Ill., is constructing a building to address the need for temporary medical student and physician housing.

The building will include two studio apartments for medical students and physicians covering temporary shifts, according to a March 29 hospital news release. Hammond-Henry Hospital currently incurs hotel or rental costs for these arrangements.

It will also feature two garage bays for hospital-owned vehicles and additional storage space for various departments.

The project is supported in part by donations totaling more than $142,000 from the Geneseo Foundation, the Francis G. & Betty J. Miller Foundation, the Hammond-Henry Hospital Endowment and the Jo Ann Parsons Memorial.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
