This is more than the 19,745 jobs the industry added the month prior and closely aligns with trends seen in healthcare’s average monthly jobs growth over the previous 12 months, according to the BLS.
Ambulatory healthcare services showed the most employment growth in healthcare last month, adding 16,200 jobs. Hospitals came next, adding 9,900 jobs in March compared to the 9,000 they added in February. Nursing and residential care facilities lost 3,700 jobs last month.
Overall, U.S. employment rose by 103,000 in March, according to the BLS.
