The National Society of High School Scholars polled more than 12,000 high school students, college students and young professionals (ages 15-27) in March 2014 to identify the top 200 preferred companies.
Respondents were asked to rank their preferred companies to work for and selected from a list of 220 companies. That list was created by combining the 2012-2014 editions of “Best Companies to Work For” from Fortune, the 2012-2014 editions of “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” from DiversityInc, selected companies from Fortune‘s Global 500 and popular write-in responses from prior surveys.
Healthcare and technology remain popular choices among millennials: Of the 25 top-ranked companies, seven are hospitals or health service organizations. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ranked No. 1 for the second year in a row, with Google following in the No. 2 spot.
