Modernizing Medicine’s telemedicine app will focus on teledermatology, according to the report. It is currently in beta testing and is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter.
Daniel Cane, CEO of Modernizing Medicine, told MedCity News that a common barrier to telemedicine adoption is that the platform is separate from the EHR, making it difficult to integrate data into records. “A big pitfall of telemedicine is the idea that it can grow independently of EHRs,” Mr. Cane said. Now, the two offerings are packaged together into one.
The company plans to develop telemedicine platforms for seven other specialties into its EHR offering, including orthopedics, gastroenterology and ophthalmology, according to the report.
