From the moment a 911 call is placed to the moment help arrives, every second and every detail matters. In a health system, that call might originate in a patient-care area, an emergency department, a medical office building, a parking structure or a remote location, and the response depends on knowing which.

Four things have to happen quickly: identify where the call originated, understand the nature of the emergency, notify the right stakeholders and activate the appropriate response workflow. Basic emergency calling handles the first step unevenly and leaves much of the rest to improvisation.

This session examines how location intelligence, emergency call routing, call monitoring, internal notifications and coordinated workflows combine into a more connected approach to emergency response across complex healthcare environments.

Learnings include how to:

  • Improve visibility into the location of every emergency call
  • Give responders and internal stakeholders more actionable emergency context
  • Use call monitoring to determine the nature of an emergency and inform the right response workflow
  • Keep emergency location information current as facilities, departments, devices and networks change
