St. Clair Hospital (Pittsburgh). A 328-bed acute care medical center, St. Clair Hospital is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. The hospital is the largest employer in Pittsburgh’s South Hills, with 2,500 employees including 550 physicians. In 2016, Hospitals & Health Networks named St. Clair one of the nation’s Most Wired hospitals and Leapfrog has consistently awarded the hospital an A grade for hospital safety since 2013. Opened in 1954, St. Clair Hospital remains on the forefront of innovation; last year the hospital became the first hospital in the region to offer a cost estimate tool patients can use online to estimate out-of-pocket expenses before receiving services.
