The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission has released its first June report to Congress, which outlines trends in Medicaid enrollment.

MACPAC was created by the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act that President Obama signed in Feb. 2009. The commission’s first 224-page June report notes 48 states and the District of Columbia have some form of managed care for all or part of their Medicaid program. According to the report, 49 million Medicaid enrollees, or 71 percent of total Medicaid enrollees, were enrolled in some form of managed care in 2009.
