Providence Hospital Northeast in South Carolina Receives Board Approval for $38.4M Expansion

The board of trustees at Providence Hospital Northeast in Columbia, S.C., has approved a $38.4 million expansion and renovation plan designed to enhance orthopedic and general medicine services, according to a hospital release.

New construction will include an energy plant, an added MRI service, a new main entrance and canopy, along with an expansion of the front lobby, PACU and central sterile processing. Areas to be renovated on the first floor include emergency, pre-op/recovery, surgery, central sterile and admissions departments. Patient care areas on the third floor will also renovated.  

Construction is expected to begin in mid-March.
