Orthopedic Hospital to Open in Franklin, Wis.

Glendale, Wis.-based Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and 24 independent physicians will open a new orthopedic hospital in Franklin, Wis., according to a report in The Business Journal of Milwaukee.

The $30 million Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital will open in Aug. 2009 and will include 16 inpatient beds, six day surgery beds, six surgical suites, four procedure rooms and nine recovery room beds. The hospital will be located on the second floor of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – Franklin but will operate as a separate entity, according to the report.

The physicians come from independent groups throughout the greater Milwaukee area and specialize in areas ranging from sports medicine to children’s orthopedics to spine, hip, hand and knee surgery, Wheaton said in the report.
