New York City-based NYU Langone Health has received two gifts totaling $60 million to advance women’s healthcare through the creation of the Mignone Women’s Health Collaborative.
The health system received a $50 million gift from the Allison and Roberto Mignone Family Foundation and a $10 million gift from Citadel CEO Kenneth Griffin to support the effort.
NYU Langone has renamed its existing hub for women’s health, the NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Center East 53rd Street, as the Mignone Women’s Health Collaborative in recognition of the donations.
The collaborative unites more than 125 experts and clinicians across 20 key areas, including preventive care, pregnancy support and midlife health. It aims to provide more integrative care for women across the health system, advance research in women’s health and develop new coursework for the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Mr. Griffin’s donation will support the creation of the Griffin Healthspan and Vitality Center within the collaborative. The center will offer personalized care and services focused on women’s well-being, longevity and quality of life.
“The Mignone Women’s Health Collaborative will allow us, through our integrated system, to offer even better treatment for women at every stage,” Robert Grossman, MD, CEO of NYU Langone Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, said in a May 21 news release. “Overlaid with NYU Langone’s signature quality and bolstered by these generous gifts, the collaborative is a meaningful step toward closing the gap in women’s health.”
