Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago). U.S. News & World Report ranked Northwestern Memorial Hospital a high-performing hospital for bypass surgery in its common care ratings as well as No. 9 nationally for cardiology and heart surgery in its 2015-16 rankings. The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute was also U.S. News & World Report‘s highest ranked cardiology and heart surgery program in the Chicago metro area and in the state of Illinois. Northwestern Memorial was named a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care and has received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence.
