Medical Center of Central Georgia Performs 1,000th Robotic Procedure

The physicians of The Medical Center of Central Georgia performed the hospital’s 1,000th robotic procedure using the daVinci robotic surgery system.

The system is designed to assist surgeons during minimally invasive urology, gynecology, cardiology and general surgery procedures. MCCG has averaged 155 robotic procedures per year since acquiring the technology in 2007, and performed 370 in 2012.

The hospital has recently acquired the new daVinci Si, which offers enhanced high definition views of the surgical site and digital operating room integration.
