The $11 million center is located on the hospital campus and will replace the hospital’s Cancer Center of Virginia, which was off campus. The new center features a $4.5 million TruBeam STx linear accelerator, which can perform stereotactic radiosurgery. Mary Washington has partnered with the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville to set up and use the SRS service.
The former cancer center is expected to close by the end of September and be reused for other programs.
