The former vice president of Beverly (Mass.) Hospital charged with stealing more than $500,000 in a bribery and kickback scheme is scheduled to go to trial in November, according to an Eagle Tribune report.
Paul Galzerano faces three counts of bribing a business and four counts of felony larceny. He was indicted in the scheme in July 2010, along with three other contractors who were able to reach plea agreements.
Prosecutors say Mr. Galzerano solicited and accepted kickbacks and bribes from contractors on a $50 million hospital expansion project. He also allegedly stole expensive antiques from the hospital, such as a $10,000 century-old grandfather clock.
