Five Kansas Hospitals Recognized for Healthcare Challenge Solutions

The Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation has recognized five hospitals in the state for their work in creating solutions to various healthcare challenges, according to a report in the Wichita Business Journal.

Newton Medical Center and Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, both located in Chanute, Kan., are co-winners of the 2009 Thomas R. Sipe Challenge award, according to the report. Newton was recognized for its “Show Me the Money” program to address the challenge of obtaining funding in difficult economic times. Neosho Memorial was recognized for its fall-prevention program.

Via Christi Health in Wichita, Hays (Kan.) Medical Center and the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City were given honorable mention designations, according to the report. Via Christi was honored for its ePharmacy program, Hays was recognized for its nursing retention initiatives, and UK Medical Center was honored for its Community Health Center Executive Fellowship Program.
