For the study, Harvard School of Public Health researchers analyzed 37 national opinion polls conducted by 17 survey organizations. When likely voters were asked to choose from a list of issues, similar to the approach used in election-day exit polls, one in five named “healthcare and Medicare” as the most important issue in their 2012 voting choice. “The economy and jobs” was cited as the most important issue by 51 percent of likely voters.
Further analysis of likely voters shows “healthcare/Medicare voters” are likely to side with President Barack Obama over Gov. Mitt Romney.
