The ground breaking of the nine-story pavilion kicks off a series of improvement projects for the hospital campus, an initiative the health system is calling “Building for the Future.”
The pavilion will be connected to the main hospital facility and will contain multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, 14 outpatient operating suites, advanced imaging technology and three of the campus’ institutes — cancer, heart and vascular and neurosciences — as well as for the Women’s Center.
“We are doing more than breaking ground for a new building; we are embarking on an exciting journey that celebrates our campus’ roots while taking us into a future in which advancements in patient service, convenience and satisfaction are as significant as our ability to deliver cutting-edge treatments,” said Ken Lukhard, president of Christ Medical Center and Hope Children’s Hospital. “‘Building for the Future’ is our blueprint for ensuring that we can continue to serve all patients at all times, while delivering outstanding, patient- and family-focused care, well into the 21st century.”
The Outpatient Pavilion is scheduled to open at the end of 2013.
