Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Calif., will assume management of its comprehensive cancer center and terminate its management agreement with Aptium, a subsidiary of pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, according to a Desert Sun report.
The management transition is prompted by AstraZeneca’s decision to sell Aptium, according to the report. Aptium had managed the center for approximately 20 years.
While the termination agreement is not finalized, AstraZeneca and Desert Regional’s operator, Tenet Healthcare, consider the deal as certain, according to the report.
