Dr. Giesecke died Dec. 24 at his home in the Dallas suburb of Irving.
Dr. Giesecke was working at Parkland Hospital on Nov. 22, 1963, when Pres. Kennedy was assassinated. Dr. Giesecke’s son said the late physician recalled that the president did not flinch when he inserted heart probes into his skin.
Dr. Giesecke worked for most of his career at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, serving as the chairman of anesthesiology from 1981-1992.
