From AI-focused collaborations to joint ventures in the fight against childhood cancer, here are 10 oncology partnerships launched so far in 2025:
1. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital and Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham have partnered to open a radiation oncology center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
2. Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center partnered with Nikon to open a Nikon Center of Excellence, becoming the first standalone cancer center in the world to do so.
3. The University of Hawaii Cancer Center and The Queen’s Health Systems, both based in Honolulu, launched an integrative oncology partnership.
4. University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children’s Hospital, both based in Houston, established a joint venture with the aim of ending childhood cancer.
5. New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center partnered with Amazon Web Services to accelerate cancer innovation and research through AI, high-performance computing and cloud technologies.
6. Leading experts and researchers from Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center and Moffitt Cancer Center collaborated on a guideline review for melanoma care. The review was published Nov. 4, 2024, in the Annals of Surgical Oncology.
7. University of Washington School of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, both based in Seattle, launched an institute dedicated to treating a rare, aggressive form of skin cancer.
8. Madison, W.Va.-based Boone Memorial Hospital partnered with Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Cancer Institute to open a cancer center.
9. Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and Washington, D.C.-based Howard University Cancer Center reignited their established partnership to eliminate health disparities in the Washington, D.C., area.
10. Researchers from New York City-based Mount Sinai and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center partnered on an AI-powered tool that can predict which patients will respond well to immunotherapy.
