The Airband Grant Fund is a part of Microsoft’s Airband Initiative, the company’s effort to expand affordable broadband coverage in the rural U.S. and abroad. As part of the initiative, Microsoft partnered with rural technology operator RTO Wireless and broadband wireless solutions provider Radwin earlier this month to widen internet access in underserved communities.

The Microsoft Airband Grant Fund focuses on identifying and supporting startups creating innovative new technologies and services to increase affordable internet access. This year’s winners will receive cash investments as well as access to technology, mentoring and networking opportunities.

Numbers4Health is one of eight recipients of the 2018 Airband Grant Fund. It is focused on implementing a solution in collaboration with internet service providers to support telemedicine and healthcare access in rural Maine.
