Intel launches platform for remote patient care

Intel rolled out an application software platform targeted toward remote care solution developers, the company announced Oct. 19.

Through a collaboration with Flex, a technology manufacturer focused on connected products, Intel created an internet of things compute engine called the Intel Health Application Platform. The platform enables developers to deliver services to any cloud platform.

The goal of the platform is to provide developers with wireless connectivity to chronic condition management devices like glucose monitors, pulse oximeters and weight scales.
