Supply chain resiliency progress is plateauing: Fed

The availability of supplies has improved since early 2023, but these gains have since stalled, according to a May study conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The Federal Reserve said between a third and half of businesses are struggling to acquire supplies, "and many are reducing operations and raising prices to compensate, though to a lesser extent than a few years ago."

Globally, supply chain pressures have eased since November 2023, according to the Federal Reserve's Global Supply Chain Pressure Index

Regionally, though, supply availability on services and manufactured products steadily increased for about two years before plateauing in late 2023, the Federal Reserve found. Its new supply availability indexes will be published in monthly, regional updates starting in June.
