With the drought of blood donations in September and October, the Red Cross issued an urgent call for donations, especially type O. The Red Cross is also asking for volunteers to host blood drives to prevent the shortage from worsening this winter.

The Red Cross attributed the shortage to a decrease in blood drives, coupled with hurricanes Michael and Florence.

People who donate blood with the Red Cross from Nov. 21 to Nov. 24 will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.
