J&J’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery to acquire Megadyne Medical Products

Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a subsidiary of New Brunswick, N.J.–based Johnson & Johnson, acquired Megadyne Medical Products — a Draper, Utah-based medical device company that develops electrosurgical tools.

Megadyne’s offering of electrosurgical tools includes monopolar and bipolar electrodes, patient return electrodes, generators and smoke evacuation systems.

Somerville, N.J.-based Ethicon Endo-Surgerywill add the Megadyne devices to its own portfolio of surgical technologies and solutions including sutures, staplers, energy devices, trocars and hemostats.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
