Parkview Health, a 10-hospital system based in Fort Wayne, Ind., won the Top Supply Chain Projects Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive for synchronizing its pharmacy and supply chain processes.

The system reorganized and simplified its pharmacy supply chain by co-designing an “integrated procurement and inventory management system,” according to a news release from supply chain technology company Tecsys, which partners with Parkview and is a joint winner of the award.

Before implementing the award-winning strategy, “lack of visibility and control resulted in frequent overordering, excess inventory and returns, potential overpayments to wholesalers and suppliers, and a massive amount of non value-added work for the pharmacy team,” according to a case study Tecsys compiled about the Parkview project.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
