GHX awards systems, execs for supply chain excellence

Global Health Exchange announced the winners of its annual GHXcellence Awards May 16. 

The awards recognize organizations and people who are “leading with purpose and building resilient supply chains that are foundational to patient care,” GHX said in a statement. 

Award-winning organizations:

  • Collaboration and partnership: Northwestern Medicine (Chicago) and Medline Industries
    • Key contributor: Tabitha Welsh, director supply chain operations, Northwestern Medicine
    • Key contributor: Brian Harty, executive account director, Medline Industries

  • Elevating the clinically integrated supply chain: Corewell Health (Grand Rapids and Southfield, Mich.)
    • Key contributor: Julie Bulson, DNP, RN, business assurance director

  • Innovation in healthcare supply chain: MultiCare Health System (Tacoma, Wash.)
    • Key Contributor: Joe LaFrance, business process engineer

  • Operational excellence in healthcare supply chain: MUSC Health (Charleston, S.C.)
    • Key contributors: Austin Zoeller, associate chief supply chain officer; Brandon Droz, associate vice president, procure-to-pay; and Jenna Hall, director of procurement

  • Sustainability in the healthcare supply chain: Providence (Renton, Wash.)

Individual winners:

  • Supply chain leadership, provider: Marisa Farabaugh, chief supply chain officer, senior vice president, AdventHealth (Altamonte Springs, Fla.)

  • Supply chain leadership, supplier: Michael Oliver, chief technology and information security officer, The Claflin Co.

Merit-based organizational awards: 

  • Provider of the year, large: Loma Linda (Calif.) University Health

  • Provider of the year, medium: Children’s of Alabama (Birmingham)

  • Provider of the year, small: Southwest General Health Center (Middleburg Heights, Ohio)

  • Provider of the year, Canadian: The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto)

  • Supplier of the year, large: Boston Scientific

  • Supplier of the year, medium: Cordis

  • Supplier of the year, Canadian: Stryker

The merit-based winners were evaluated on GHX performance metrics, and all other winners were nomination-based and selected by a committee.
