Suzanne Schwartz, MD, director of the office of strategic partnerships and technology innovation of the FDA’s center for devices and radiological health, said “she’s over the moon” about the FDA’s new powers. As part of the bill, the agency can decide on cybersecurity requirements before devicemakers deploy internet-connected devices to the market, and it can enforce stricter security follow-up rules for approved products, according to Politico.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
