Boston Scientific to expand vascular supply chain with $14.5B acquisition

Boston Scientific has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire devicemaker Penumbra in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $14.5 billion.

Boston Scientific leaders said Penumbra’s portfolio of vascular and neurovascular technologies will expand the company’s offerings in fast-growing treatment areas, according to a Jan. 15 news release from Boston Scientific.

The acquisition is expected to close in 2026, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals.
