Cleveland Clinic has partnered with Vinmec Healthcare System in Vietnam to build a new hospital in the country.
The two organizations plan to break ground on the Vinmec Can Gio International General Hospital in August. Vinmec is a nonprofit healthcare system operating nine hospitals and four clinics in Vietnam. It is owned by Vingroup, one of the country’s largest private conglomerates.
Five details:
- The facility will be based on Cleveland Clinic’s care model, which integrates comprehensive specialties, advanced clinical centers and world-class medical equipment, according to an April 18 news release.
- Vinmec Can Gio will be built within the Vinhomes Green Paradise, a 7,500-acre coastal township under development by Vingroup in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Under the partnership, Cleveland Clinic will serve as a strategic advisor to Vinmec Can Gio’s medical and operational teams. The hospital’s staff will have access to the Clinic’s advisory services, training programs and clinical education. When medically appropriate, patients may also be referred to Cleveland Clinic hospitals in the U.S.
- Vinmec Can Gio is expected to become the third Vinmec facility to join the Cleveland Clinic Connected network. Two other Vinmec hospitals — Times City International Hospital and Central Park International Hospital — are already members.
- The new hospital is part of the Cleveland Clinic’s broader international strategy to build a network of independent but closely aligned healthcare organizations committed to patient care excellence. The health system created the Connected program three years ago to support hospitals around the world with clinical guidance, co-branding opportunities and strategic planning.
