Hutcheson Medical Center changed its name to Erlanger at Hutcheson in November 2011 after making a management agreement with Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System. The hospital is resuming its original name based on public feedback, Waterhouse Public Relations told the Dade County Sentinel.

In addition, the hospital adopted a new logo that reads “Hutcheson” in Erlanger’s font, with “Erlanger Health System” beneath and Erlanger’s gold flower, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report.

“The hospital and its board of directors understand that the community values its separate identity but wants to be part of Erlanger,” Nathalie Strickland, spokeswoman for Hutcheson officials, said in the report. “So it was decided that the Hutcheson name should continue to be a significant part of the brand.”
