Dr. Murdock serves as senior vice president and CNO at Ochsner Health, setting the strategy and vision for nursing practice and leading close to 10,000 nurses across clinical excellence, quality, education and workforce development. She partners closely with system quality leadership to advance enterprise performance while prioritizing nurse wellbeing, development and professional voice. Under her leadership, the system expanded initiatives like a virtual nursing model and strengthened workforce pipelines through programs such as “Ochsner Scholars” and a nurse tech program developed with academic partners and the state board of nursing. She also supported investments in the current workforce, including salary market adjustments, annual merit increases, employee bonuses, retirement contributions and enhanced family benefits. Dr. Murdock maintains direct visibility with nursing teams through quarterly rounding, shadow shifts, frontline and leader meetings, and volunteer events across the system’s seven regions. In 2025, Ochsner Health earned a “Top Workplaces 2025” honor by Top Workplaces for Nursing, thanks to its progress in building a culture where nurses feel valued, empowered and equipped to excel.
