Stanford Hospital is on U.S. News & World Report‘s “Best Hospitals” honor roll and is nationally ranked in 11 adult specialties. The hospital is also rated high performing in 19 adult procedures and conditions, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, colon cancer surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, and gynecological cancer surgery. Stanford Hospital is a “Best Regional Hospital,” ranked No. 1 in California and No. 1 in San Jose. Beyond the hospital itself, Stanford Health Care operates primary care offices throughout the Bay Area, outpatient clinics in Redwood City and Palo Alto, and the Stanford South Bay Cancer Center. Stanford Hospital has been designated one of the “World’s Best Smart Hospitals” by Newsweek for 2026, having been built as an Internet of things hospital designed to accommodate advanced patient-centric technology like digital applications, tracking sensors on medical equipment, autonomous robots and patient-controlled room tech.
