For more than 100 years, Seattle Children’s Hospital has specialized in meeting the physical, emotional and developmental needs of children from infancy through young adulthood. Physicians across nearly 60 pediatric subspecialties provide inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, surgical, rehabilitative, behavioral, emergency and outreach services, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The hospital’s research division, made up of Seattle Children’s Research Institute and Seattle Children’s Therapeutics, is internationally recognized for its work in cancer therapies, genetics, neuroscience, immunology, infectious disease and bioethics. In 2026-27, U.S. News & World Report again named Seattle Children’s among the top 10 best children’s hospitals in the U.S. and the best in the Pacific Northwest, a distinction it has held every year since the publication began ranking medical centers more than 30 years ago. In 2025, the hospital recorded 600,680 patient visits, performed 19,002 outpatient surgeries and 6,311 inpatient surgeries, and operated 423 total licensed beds. That same year, Seattle Children’s Research Institute reported $235.5 million in total extramural funding, including $123.1 million from the federal government and $16.1 million from corporations.
