Cedars-Sinai Medical Center tied for No. 1 in California and has been named to U.S. News & World Report‘s “Best Hospitals” honor roll for 10 consecutive years, with national rankings in 11 specialties. The medical center runs 732 active clinical trials, and in 2025 its investigators developed and successfully tested a new treatment for pregnant women with severe early preeclampsia, a leading cause of premature birth and maternal and fetal death. The Cedars-Sinai system is also expanding its academic footprint, with Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University marking its first full year in 2025, and enrollment across its medical disciplines and programs reaching 1,008 by 2026. The system opened Cedars-Sinai Clinic London in 2025, its first flagship outpatient clinic outside the U.S. Cedars-Sinai’s division of thoracic surgery is using robotic tools through a single small incision to perform same-day biopsy and surgery that speeds recovery, while an FDA-approved expandable heart stent developed at the medical center is reducing the need for repeat operations in infants born with narrowed blood vessels. In 2025, the broader Cedars-Sinai system awarded $21 million to Los Angeles nonprofits, part of more than $200 million in grantmaking to roughly 300 nonprofits across the county since 2012.
