Vermont's Fletcher Allen Health Admits Errors in Care of Man Who Later Died

Fletcher Allen Health Care, based in Burlington, Vt., has admitted errors were made in the care of a traffic accident victim who died after receiving medical attention at Fletcher Allen, according to a Burlington Free Press report.

Zachary Stamatis was struck by a car and taken to Fletcher Allen for care. Although he was treated and released, he was found dead the next day. A medical examiner's report found Mr. Stamatis died as a result of a brain injury and skull fracture from the accident.

 



The hospital investigated the patient's care and acknowledged unspecified errors were made in his care, according to the report. The hospital would not disclose specific details due to patient confidentiality but did implement changes to prevent such an incident from happening again.
