Five things to know:
1. The agency has received complete demographic data for 383 of the 530 cases.
2. Of those illnesses, 72 percent involved men and 67 percent involved individuals from ages 18 to 34.
3. The CDC has reported lung illnesses in 38 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
4. Seven people have died from the illnesses in six states: California, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota and Oregon.
5. Health officials are urging people to abstain from using e-cigarettes or vaping until they can identify a common source of the cases.
